The Week in a Nutshell

What can you do to support legal aid this week?

The staff at legal aid offices work incredible hard. They put in long hours and go above and beyond for their clients. Want to know how you can support them? Volunteer!

Here are opportunities at local legal aid programs:

The Week in a Nutshell

Good Monday!

This summer is flying by. It’s getting hotter by the minute, but here at TALS we’re trying to see the sunny side of…well, all this sun! Here are some things we’re feeling summy about this week:

We’re busy bees this week. Keep your eyes on our Facebook page as we share more about our summer fun here at TALS!

In the meantime, we’d like to thank everyone for turning out to support our training last Friday!

Thank you so much to everyone who come to our Family Law Task Force Training!

It was great to reconnect with our partners and programs and meet some amazing presenters.

Special Thanks to:

  • Stephanie Henry of the TN Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
  • Mark E. Sullivan of the Law Offices of Mark E. Sullivan, P.A., in Raleigh, NC, and
  • Scott Lafferty of Defense Finance and Accounting Service

We were thrilled with our turnout and can’t wait to see everyone again at our next training!

And don’t forget, EJU is just around the corner, so be sure to check out our sponsorship information and mark your calendar for October 12th!

Peace and Peanut Butter Cookies!

This week is all about summer!

Monday is the last day before summer and the last day to register for our family law training on Friday. So, register now and enjoy that last day of balmy spring weather (or that 95 degree sweaty mess if you’re in Nashville) before it gets too hot. And as the heat approaches, be sure to take care of those around you who are vulnerable!

Tuesday is the first day of summer! But why is it the first day of summer you ask? Good question – National Geographic has the answer!

When Wednesday gets here we’re half way to the weekend, so now’s the time to go ahead and plan your activities. Feeling grateful there’s only two more days ‘till Friday? Say thanks by giving back to your community!

Thursday is usually ‘Thoughts Over Lunch’ here at PB&J. We can’t wait to share what we’re cooking up here in part 2 of our Creative Outreach piece, but it’s still in the works! Have an idea you’ve used for reaching out to your community that you’d like highlighted here? We’d LOVE to hear it! Email Linnet at loverton@tals.org to share your story! This piece will be coming to a Thursday near you :)

Friday is the TALS Family Law Training and we can’t wait to hear from our amazing speakers:

We are so grateful for these excellent presenters sharing their time and expertise!

Hope you have an amazing first week of summer!
